NEOERA · WEAR & CARE

赤Everyday use and care

Every suit is handmade. Follow the steps for your series when you wear, wash, and store it, and your character will stay in good shape.

  1. Before you suit up

Wear a plain white quick-dry athletic layer underneath. It helps the suit go on more easily, and white won’t show through the fur. If you wear hip padding or a waist cincher, put it on under the quick-dry layer.

  2. Silicone chest padding

If your suit has silicone chest padding, place each teardrop-shaped pad wide end down, resting naturally between the chest lining and the fur. Fasten the hooks at the back of the chest lining, then close the zip at the back of the suit.

  3. Everyday care for the head

The head usually doesn’t need washing. After wearing, set it opening side up, spray it with antibacterial spray, and leave it somewhere well ventilated.

  4. Washing the head

If the head does need washing, first remove the detachable eye pieces and the lining. Hand wash it under room-temperature water, blot off the excess water with a towel, and let it air-dry in a dry, well-ventilated place out of direct sun.

  5. Washing the body

Before washing the body, take out the tail’s stuffing insert. Machine wash the body in a laundry bag, on a gentle or bulky-items cycle if your machine has one. Air-dry it in a dry, well-ventilated place out of direct sun. Never tumble dry on high heat, or it may shrink.

  6. Tail and other stuffing inserts

To wash a stuffing insert such as the tail’s, take the cotton out first, then machine wash it as normal. If the cotton flattens after long use, add more cotton or replace it with new.

  7. Padding inside the head

The padding inside the head is removable. Machine wash it in a laundry bag, and never tumble dry it on high heat.

  8. Storage

Hang the body on a clothes hanger between wears. Don’t leave it folded for long, or it may crease. To lift a crease, sweep a hair dryer’s warm air over it in several short passes.

  9. Repairs and aftercare

Each suit is handmade, so small loose seams or holes can appear after wearing or washing. If you can sew a little, you can mend them yourself, or contact the studio for aftercare.
